FAR manager is a program that lets you acces the sistem files on your phone with a plugin you can find an download doing a quick search on esato. So after that you can upgrade the camera driver, the menus, etc. Right now the latest plugin supports CID 36 (beats me what is CID) and K750 has it. K800 and W810 use CID 49, but hopefully will have aplugin for that too.

I think with the W810 you get the most bang for the buck.

@deluded
If CID 36 is the latest patch for 750i, how come your ph has CID49 which is for k800? Sorry for asking seemingly stupid questions, but am a newbie here.
Have you faced you faced any problems after applying the patches?
Can't wait to get mine.. but will have to wait till next month. Would have loved to get the k800, but will check my temptation for now ..

'Cid36' is NOT a patch. It's depicts a type of encrytion for certain SE phones. Earlier SE phone have cid36. A powerful fellow known as 'Darkmen' was able to crack this cid36 encryption and thus making it possible for us to enter the file system in our phones that SE intended to protect from our eyes, through the wonderful program known as 'Far-manager'. Now, because cid36 was cracked and SE wants to keep its contents confidential, they implemented a new and more secure type of encryption - 'CID49'. This is what they use on new models now and on newer products of k750, w800 etc. So you see why some k750 are cid49? Things like modified cam-drivers, acoustic drivers etc etc are what you'll call 'patches'. If you ever get to use farmanager with your phone, you ought to send your thanks and appreciation to the genius 'Darkmen'. He resides @
www.se-nse.net
There you'll get the history of 'SEFP' plug-in Darkmen created that we use with far for our phones. You can also give your support for cracking cid49

@kulorex
Thanks for sharing the info. Is it true that in K750i you cannot use the charger and the handsfree at the same time as they have merged the port?

Yes you can't use your charger and headset at the same time. You are correct they share the same port.
To check you cid number, use davinci tool. Off course you can get it on their website.
Or also, though not a full-proof procedure, you could check the manufacturing date at the back of your handset underneath the battery 'NOT THE BATTERY ITSELF' and if your phone is made after 'week 3, 2006', it is highly possible that it's cid49.
At the back of your phone, underneath the battery - look for numbers like this '06W04' meaning phone was made in 4th week 2006.
Max-wedge was trying to deduce a clear cut date on when cid49 replaced cid36, but there were some few problems with users not giving accurate information (some where sending dates of their battery) and the possibility that there have been production overlap etc etc. However, you can follow up on this issue to see how it ended on
www.se-nse.net
Or i guess you pm max-wedge, a wonderful guy in there forums. Thanks max!
