If wasn't for the earths natural resources we would probably still be getting around in horses & carts and beating our clothes against a rock to get them clean.

Sad but true!

You might be saying now, "ooh I'll be glad to see the back of the oil, its caused us nothing but trouble", but how would you get to work without it?

Unless we can come up with a good alternative then the problem belongs to all of us.

@Sammy_boy

There will have to be some sort of revolution as regards how the earth resources are managed but something tellsl me it's to late. How do you reverse 150 years of coal and oil pollution in a few decades?

I would agree with that goldenface, id say were too late now and although teh damage aint showing that much right now i honestly feel there will be consequences for us.... as for the oil running out im glad it is too axxxr, it isnt good for the enviroment etc and its a very expensive way to run things like our cars etc... (for us in the uk anyway)... although without it goldenface is definatly right in that we wouldnt be where we are today without it....

Don't worry about pollution. After mankind passes away, nature will restore its balance. Almost nothing would be left of the human race, in around a million years after its extinction.

@leeboy

I believe the technology is there to find a replacement for oil and coal (smokeless coal technology is already here), its just the willpower that is lacking.

Why not harness tidal power? As long as the moon rises and falls there will always be tidal power, but of course there's always some blocking the change.

it is about time the goverment found new ways of creating energy and other sources for fuel etc etc. non renewable energy sources don't last forever and we need to think about the future generations (i sound so old saying that)
