I ordered this product from Brando out of sheer curiosity. However when the package arrived four days later, though 'W800' appeared on the sticker on the cover, the attachment which connects the phone to the lens was that of the W550. I emailed Brando about this with an attached photo of the incorrect attachment next to the box with W800 on the cover. I received a reply in 2 hours stating that they would send me the correct 'item'. I was quite surprised a few days later when I received another complete kit - telephoto lens and all, instead of only the attachment.

Actually, manual focusing in digital cameras can be very hard. Proper digital cameras with telephoto lenses using manual focus like the Sony H-series and the R-1 have 2 functions to help focusing. The firts makes a 2x digital zoom in order to get a better look of what you are looking at. The second makes objects edges visibles using a blue glow.

I pretty sure that most of the pictures taken using that will be blured and out of focus and even if you manage to get a good focus it will cost you some time before every picture.

I have a modified cam phone with manually adjustable focus and it is true focus is a bitch. You can zoom in with digital zoom (4x) which helps but it's still not close enough or accurate enough to focus well.

@max, I've just checked out the two links you included in your post and all I can say is it's an awesome job you did with your K750 camera module. I'm not a member of se-nse, so I couldn't see the pictures of your modded K750, but I saw the pictures you took with it. I always felt my stock K750i was great, but the photos you took with yours can probably rival those taken with any consumer digital camera. Great work mate! By the way, do you happen to have an identical thread here with pictures of your modded K750 camera module? Would love to take a look at it.

Sure, good luck in getting your perfect modified phone camera. I'll be waiting for your good news. I'm very satisfied with the camera on my stock K750i, but I believe it's Achilles heel is the lack of optical zoom. I know there are reasons why it's not practical to have it in a camera phone, but still, I feel it'll be almost perfect with it.
