A 3.5mm port
What's wrong with the mic adapter that comes with the phone? In fact it's better than having on the phone because it then allows you to use the headphones as a handsfree.

The Fastport adapter is pretty bad. It comes off easily when a little force pushes it. What good is the handsfree if it comes off easily? I would rather SE implement a 3.5mm headphone jack if they're really going to release a MP3 phone.

i don't agree with te thread starter at all. I'm testing all the phones we have in my shop at work. And Nokia or even samsung has not so good music phones like sony ericsson. I don't even use a walkman phone but a K800i and thats one of the best mobiles with mp3 player i had.
But of course if you don't use MP3 files with good quality then the sound sucks anyway...
Just my 2 cent..

imo the walkman feature is ojk, according the fact, that i buy any walkman branded device as a fone, not as mp3 player. however i have to admit, that for serious things i took a symbian and as second as mp3 a walkman fone, but i was satisfied with the result

I share some of the same grips, but a few can be fixed:
3.5 adapter? What happened to your headphones???
Get rid of your hissing by getting some new audio drivers!

Wow, the guy just expresses his complaints (which a lot of w810 users share), and people just charge at him. Some of you even act like trolls. Come on, if you disagree, post here and make your point.
Walkman series were meant to be for those who enjoy music and like to take it anywhere. Or did i get the commercials wrong?
If not, then i could confidently buy a w800, or w810 or W-whatever as these have the Walkman brand. I

Music, right? Right.
Even cheap Mp3 players don't have issues such as those in these "walkman" phones. Don't tell me "they are just phones, not mp3 players", because they are not "just phones", they are "WalkmanŽ" phones, which were (and still are) advertised with such an impression that they were no worse than cheap mp3 players.

i bought my girlfriend the w810i in white and i find that the w810i has significant sound quality when in use with speaker. However when using the headphones I beleive that the sound quality is good but not loud enoufh when compaerd to my ipod nano 1G. As for hissing I cannot speak of because there isn't any hissing on playback, well atleast not that I am aware of.
just adding my 2 cents...
