Well I checked my brothers D900 today(he is on Vodafone but the handset is sim free) and he has an mp3 set as a ringtone

So i find that very weird that they can say it's an o2 fault when it would actually be the software on the phone that would be causing the problem

I.e ITS SAMSUNGS FAULT!

You have to get them told

Cause o2 will just tell you to go to Samsung about it

When i had my D900 yeh it let me set an mp3 as a ringtone. Didnt let me set it as a message alert though

Yes I have an mp3 as a ringtone, sounds like you've got a dodgy phone.

Meh I'm not too keen on the phone, think I may well ask Virgin if I can change it, if not I'll cancel the contract. It's too flimsy, I'm scared I'm going to break it each time I use it. It's also not that much better than the D600...I can't really see what Samsung have improved other than the camera.

It still lacks radio and is still NOT customisable. Grr.

Ah well.

if you decide to keep your phone

Ps, I forgot this phone allows you to change SMS tones I mean download more, the D600 was pretty rubbish of that it didn't allow you to do it.

@miss uk: There's nothing wrong with your phone, it's the i-mode software, it blocks certain things.
My cousin had identical problems with his Samsung, an earlier i-mode version. He emailed Samsung about this and got an almost identical answer, as you did (with one difference, of course, they told him, to go to KPN, the Dutch provider, which has the i-mode license).

Also, the Samsung website doesn't reckognise his phone.
Apparantly, Samsung sees these phones not as Samsung-, but as i-mode phones.
Besides these few things, my cousin is happy with his phone, though.

Im happy with the phone but I want MP3 ringtones,
when I convert MP3 to MMF (What all the tones work as preset ringtones)
they sound really distorted.

Ive Emailed 02 anyways lets see what they say,
im hoping it isn't what you say being the i-Mode being the issue preventing the phone from functioning correctley, what a real shame

Does anyone know how I can get the D900 to auto save sent messages in the sentbox?

I saw it being discussed about the D600 but not D900...?
