K750 or w800's picture is more clear then w850. i don't understand why se do that to with w850. if it has the same lens then it'll be the great phone of the year.

Its not quite the autofocus that is the problem, but the lack of a macro lens...

That outdoor photo looks good, but any extreme close up photo won“t look has good has on k750, w810, p990, k800, etc, because these phones have kick ass macro lens

As I'm not happy with SE's decision about not adding autofocus to the W850i's camera, I would like to join this discussion. Will post some picture experience with my W850i.

When I decided to use the W850i, it was because I very much like the slider-design and was already addicted to the walkman phones of SE.
But as an addict to pictures I am not quite happy with it's camera.

SE have left AF out on purpose, Sony are well known for limiting capabilities of products so they are not to good.

I have a Sony video camera and they have limited certain abilities and to be able to get these abilities you either need to hack it or spend more cash getting the professional version of it. Thats what SE are doing, you need to spend more to get all the goodies.

Mine was £30 as an upgrade so cant complain.

The camera is lower standard but its a W brand (walkman) not the K type thats more photo orientated.

Look at the exposure times and notice one is 1/15 and the other 1/20 this makes a difference and can go someway to explain the darkness of the photo.

Can not compare to pics when they have different settings you see!

I agree with Simon. My digital camera allows me to change exposure times and even a small change in the exposure time affects the brightness of a picture. That could be a main factor why the W850 picture appears darker.
