I hav a w850i n it doesnt say wher its made, but the dealer told me its made in china. I hav no issues wit that cuz all majority of my electronic items r made ther n they'r workin fine.

They usually open or move the complete production lines in China, and the only thing they save on, is the cheep labor. Maybe some taxes as well.
So, basically, they should be the same quality as ones made in Sweden, UK or elsewhere, as someone before me stated.

Most of the SE phones are made in China, but there are some entry level phones that made in Malaysia and Singapore and recently India. SE also has signed an ODM agreement with Sagem to producing entry level phones.
Most of the UIQ and touch screen phones such as P series and M600 are made in France and the S series have been made in Japan.
Sony Ericsson has four major developing and designing centers in Lund and Kista, in Sweden, Emmen in The Netherlands and Research Triangle Park in North Carolina in The USA.
