I believe there is no need to uninstall the Sony Ericsson PC Suite. What I did was: plug in the switched off phone while holding "C". Go to your device manager at the system properties and find 2 SE entries at the com port section. Do an "update driver" for both entries and manually select the harmony drivers.

After this the Client found my device without any problems.

I didn't mail anything to them and received my login information automatically. (But it was catched by my spam filter)

Thank you very much spectre 77 for your kind reply. I assume you chose CDA 162007/1 and that's it, right? No delete startup logo and no finalization, just flash phone afterwards?
Regards,
Adara

If you select the finalise option you should only get one CDA string which is a much better way to do it as it limits the errors that can occur through having multiple CDA strings.

Thanks for taking the time to reply when you clearly don't need to help.

@seunlock-uk,
Tried to flash my cda again last night. This time with the change cda and finalise box checked. A popup window came up saying that you can only finalise with the flash firmware. So, tried again, this time only the change cda box checked. Went through successfully. Like before, i have 2 cda lines after the flash. Then i did a master reset and ran seus. Seus recognised my phone as world 1 generic. And the weirdest thing happened. Checked the info on the phone again. This time i only have 1 cda line as it should be. And my phone version is now r9. And yes, it did cost me another credit. Luckily i had bought an extra credit before. I was happy with the 2 cda lines before. But now, i am very very very happy! The reason i reflashed the cda again is because you said that there might be complications later on. Am so glad i listened to you. So thank you seunlock-uk! Much appreciated. By the way, i will post my screenshot when i go back home. Am writing this post using the newly flashed p990 via 3g. Later guys.

@adara,
Sorry. Almost forgot about your question there for a minute. Lol. Am just so exited at the moment. You only need to check the change cda box. And fill in the desired cda. As for me, i chose cda/1. But followed dominiques' instructions and it worked like a charm. What i did was:
1) format the phone
2) master reset
3) took out simcard
4) replace battery
5) check change cda box with the cda162007/1 typed in it
6) click flash phone
7) press c button
connect usb
9) cda change done (at this time, you will see 2 cda lines)
10) master reset phone again
11) flash with seus (seus detects phone as world 1 generic)
12) done!
But i did another master reset and ran seus again just to be sure. (i'm just being paranoid). So there you go. Happy flashing (you know what i mean). Lol. Hope everything goes well for you.

this is my screenshot with 1 cda line:
