In response to Suland's post above you can use the same method to activate the light for taking video.
Put in camera mode, turn on flash, push button halfway to autofocus and turn on light, then thumb the slide wheel to switch into video mode, then fully press the shutter button to film video with the bright flash light on.

One thing i have noticed. One trick that says.. kill all applications running in background, play any video file and then keep pressing back till you get to "desktop". Now this may only work for non tweak-peaks users. What you will notice is that menus open a lot faster, looks like the phone is on drugs.
This only works for a little while at least on my P990. So what i am guessing is.. when you play a video file (or maybe a game) a graphic accelarator comes into play. For normal use it doesnt perform like in movies/games, so maybe that is a potential target for P990`s slowness besides RAM?
