so is the best thing to do... put your home wifi acount abd gprs in the same prefered group, just put wifi on top?
as for the chap who doesn't want to use gprs. set up a new group, and have just your home wifi in it. then set this group as your prefered group. that way, if your wifi fails, so does you connection, so there's no chance of a sneaky gprs bill.
sent fom my newly debranded p990

Hi
Yeah that's exactly what I'd already done. I've got a group called "Wifi Only" and this has just my Home Wireless connection in it and this group is set as my preferred Group. If I then do I WLAN search, find a Wifi connection, connect to it, boot up the Web and then lok at my Connections - it's used a GPRS account and added it to the top of my "Wifi only" group!
That's what I mean - sure it shouldn't be doing that!
Not had chance to find a good local Wifi spot and give it a thorough investigation yet due to work but hoping to in next couple of days.
Cheers

i need to know how i can log onto my university VPN internet. I tried setting it up and playing around with setting but nothing works!
The access point is unsecured, but you have to setup a VPN (like we do on laptop domain/user id/pass) to enable access to the internet.
PLEASE lmk ! Thankyou
