Hi all.
Well i have said it before and I'll say it again Ericsson stood for quality and innovation and i was proud to buy and use Ericsson products.
Sony in it's SE collaboration is slowly but surely destroying what was once a great company as they focus more on more on gimmicky marketing and producing lower end cheap products in their desire to shift boxes to make more profit and to hell with quality and style. This collaboration with Sagem and also the announcement of having more production in the far east is all about shifting more boxes and nothing to do with quality and innovation sad times for Ericsson IMO.
The only announcement i would like to hear is that Ericsson have split from Sony and are returning to their core values. If you agree with me or not this is MO opinion and how i see the whole sorry situation currently.

Maybe I'm being a bit naive here, but I'm going to withold judgement until I've seen the fruits of this joint venture before denouncing SE and throwing my Sony Ericssons onto a sacrificial bonfire!
I've never been a fan of Sagem's phones, as said before their UI is rather naff, but the partnership will probably brings some changes, maybe even a nice new UI that will get rolled out across the entire range? Though if it turns out to be crap then I will start having a go myself!

indeed, ericsson blamed itself enough with sony, since the merge, nothing special on the market. this sagem story smells like a revenge to a rumoured cooperation of nokia with siemens ( funny, in the past /// sold techn to siemens ) .....
what the market share of sagem? 0.1 % ? wow....

I agree with Sammy_boy. Its too early to judge what may or may not come of this agreement.
Plus, I'm sure if Ericsson wasn't happy about this collaboration then Sony would be told in no uncertain terms.

but, who said SE is gonna use Sagemīs UI??? AFAIK they are only gonna produce the low end devices hardware, not software
frankly iīm yet to see how this is damaging to the SE most of us like...how many of Esatonians use low end devices, or get excited about low end SE devices???

It not about who or how many of us use the devices it's about the continuing downward spiral a company that once was respected and admired seems determined to take. You and some others look at SE through rose tinted glasses and can never see anything wrong everything is always a plus and brilliant. Well some of us are more critical and yearn for the good old days when Ericsson actually stood for something and delivered not mediocre but excellent products that where top quality and class leading and if you say that is what the P990 is i am going to die laughing.

imo p990 was one of the biggest flops of se, maybe w950 and m600 are worth for sg, but lets face the truth. se rulez at music and cam features, thats all. the walkman series was a nice idea. so actually /// will support sagem mainly with some technology and se some sw support.
