Hi all,
Sorry to burst your bubble folks but maybe if you read and understood what i write you wouldn't be quite so confused.
First point I have stated previously that due to how complex some of these new devices are they all tend to be released less than bug free. I have never claimed that Nokia or any manufacturer's device for that matter is released perfect have i? and if I have please show me where i have said anything quite so stupid.
Second point if you are going to try and prove me wrong may i respectfully suggest you get your facts right first. I have also admitted and stated that Symbian 9.1 has issues with Ram and Multitasking this is true of all Symbian 9.1 devices and is not disputed.
Unlike what some of you may think i have also never claimed my N93 with the first firmware was perfect either but it was a lot faster and more stable than any UIQ3 device. After the first firmware i got just over 5mb extra Ram and things improved considerably. After the 2nd Firmware and the speed was drastically improved for start up and most of the remaining issues bar some noise in low light pictures was resolved. So with 2 Firmwares all but the debated low light picture issue was fixed.
Now tell me that's the same as the P990 that has never gained and still doesn't have as much free Ram on boot up. A device that has had how many firmware updates over a 8month period and still by lots of peoples accounts even those people that are happy with their device still needs attention in many areas not my conclusion either see the thread on this forum re SE Dev's and the 50 point list.
Also it is not me that has shown my true colours as you allege with an unfounded bias, but a lot of you relishing the fact the N95 has some problems as though somehow this vindicates SE and there problems and behaviour some of you I'm afraid are just very sad and need to get a life.
Where exactly am i defending anything as i don't own or have any intention of owning this device so why should i care. Unlike you who are trying to attack it just because it is not SE and lets face it SE don't have anything yet officially announced or even rumoured that can come anywhere close to it or the forthcoming E90.
Lastly lets just see how quickly these issues with the N95 are resolved or not and if not believe me i will be just as critical of Nokia and there lack of action as any of you. But so far Nokia have shown they fix problems with just a couple of firmware revisions and release a change log to demonstrate this. If they fail to do this with the N95 I will be the first to criticize them and be vocal on that you have my assurance. It seems you all think i am this great SE hater where as in fact i won't tolerate this sort of lack of action from any manufacturer and what ever you say so far Nokia have done the right thing and SE have not with the P990 hence my comments on this and not Nokia phones.
Marc

@Dragoneye Do you really have a N95? Where in Canada did you buy it from? What firmware version does it have? Is it a pre production model? Just about all the other users (not many as of today I might add), praise the 'ultimate' cell phone for its stability after all. Go look at Prodigits and MR if you doubt what I say. I thought you are a SE fan. Why do you support Nokia by buying their most expensive products at such a early stage? I won't buying it now, after all I don't want to be Nokia's testing man. If you really want to support some other company then SE - buy Sagem

first marc.. relax it's a joke
mario how's it going?.. right now i'm leaning towards se but their midrange bores me and the highend uiq devices seem to be delayed but i was once a hardcore s60 user...i was using a 3650 and praised it like crazy lol i see potential in both and was very excited with the news of the n95
. mine was production, sand, made by nokia
canada we get phones right away.. ebay, wholesellers... you name it we get it... lol howardforums is a huge canadian based forum after all...if you want one pm me..
anyway... i try it out and sell right away .. is it the ultimate device? hardware sure it's got everything but the software is rough, the build quality is mediocre and honestly didn't have a lasting impression on me...(but then again that has a lot to do with price) feels like a n73 in a slider shell...at the end of the day the e65 i played with last month had more of a wow factor in terms of build and performance even though it doesn't have the same feature set....
when the n95 gets into the $700 cad range i'll probably try it out again... for now it's a skip in my books....not just cause i'm cheap but i don't think i;m getting value for my money... rather use a windows mobile phone or go back to my cheapo k790a

Huh, you wrote lots but did not answer

I am asking again - where did you get it from in Canada ? And when? How much you paid for it? There are people waiting for it (usa&can) and will be just to happy to hear that. Secondly - what is your firmware version? If you intend to sell then you might just as well give us its Imei nr. and I will help you by giving you the place where it has been fabricated and the firmware version it come out with. On ebay you don't get any ! (there are/have been offers but are/were scams !) On the other hand, I think (actually I am pretty sure by now) you never had one in your hands, never mind ownership

Am I right?

I wished I can believe him - but look at his timing ! 5 days ago the n95 was not out yet - anywhere! Never mind Canada. Also he mentioned E-Bay

just happened I was checking ebay as part of another thread in MR forum. That gave him 'away'. But I still hope he speaks the truth. If he is, he will be one of the first to privately resell a N95 - worldwide

. But then again - I have my doubts

got it from plusone.. my buddy's store in markham and my buddy picked up the plum version at sntraders... paid 1150 and sold it today..... firmware was the production version... v10.13 or whatever..i can't rememeber... my buddy is picking up a plum one tonight which was from uk... i can post pics and then you can eat your words lol... no reason to lie..i have nothing to prove.. just stating i don't like the build that's all... and it's not worth the price in my mind...
lol don't be foolish... go to
www.howardforums.com and do a search in the marketplace or buy sell and trade section... this phone is widely available in canada and comes from asia most of the time.. canada is an immigrant country with lots of connections back to people's respective motherlands especially when it comes to cellphones and hong kong lol

Can you give me a price? If is right, I might thing on buying it

I prefer Canada because I have someone I trust returning from there in just over a week. I don't worry about 'stability' problems, however I do mind about the price. I am still waiting for DragonEye to name a shop in or around Toronto, CAN where my a buddy can buy it prior coming back to South Africa. He will be there this coming weekend - which means there isn't much time left. Anyway tx for offering to help buddy
