I'm gonna have to go with the Nokia 6620 and the RAZR V3. Actually, most Motorola VGA cams take good pics.

I just made NOTICE of one WEIRD thing with these VGA camfones . . . images taken indoors (well for some . . .) appears - SHARPER than those taken - OUTDOORS ! ! ! Byw, all the settings there are under: NORMAL . . . images taken indoors have the Night Mode in OFF position . . .

I am still looking for that very sharp image I took with my Nokia 7650 back then (Lincoln Navigator) - outdoor, can be compared with that of a 1.3 MP camfone.

Looks to me like the P800 wins with special mention to the V3 and 6230.
K700i is obvious by its tell-tale noise.

K790a in VGA mode (for comparison's sake):

@al - I guess it will still be a 3.2 MP quality image (or perhaps an improved VGA-resulting to about . . . 1.3 MP image) with that you took with your K790 . . . we can BEST regard a VGA-pic as - VGA if it was taken from a direct-VGA camera Even if settings were configured to lower the quality of image taken from a MP to a VGA one . . . !

That's still a VGA picture by definition. Just wanted to show the difference a bigger lens, etc. makes. So people stop drooling over the phone with the most Mega Pixels.

The sharp gx-15 is not a bad vga, as are the moto vga cams. Both better than the K700. I hate to say it since I loved my K700 dearly and took something like 2000 pics with it. But tbbh (to be brutally honest!) the noise was shocking, and radial blurring even more so. Noise could be dealt with with a bit of practice with camera settings (in most situations), but the radial blurring is a killer, especially when there are highly detailed chaotic scenes such as leafy trees.

My money on the best vga I've used is the Sharp GX-15 (pips the moto just)
