so, it's not about the guns? Or is it? What....?

Interesting!!! Curiously, I used to be quite kneejerkily anti-gun UNTIL I watched "Bowling for Columbine"...that's right "Bowling for Columbine" actually made me a tiny tiny bit less anti-gun. I mistrust those neat question-answer-case-closed docudramas that people like Moore churn out pretending it's their life's main drive, when it's just a chapter of their planned overall output they tick off and forget about... Anyhow, yeah, that article tackles some of the issues I'd be concerned with.
But he*l, I'd still say some folks shouldn't have guns and some folks shouldn't have cars and some folks shouldn't drink etc etc etc... Bowling for Columbine, the recent events show, has unfortunately had zero effect long-termish... In the same way that GTA doesn't turn you into a psycho (the congressional investigation into Columbine and video-game-influences confirms THAT, by the by) Bowling for Columbine doesn't turn the world into a big fluffy peach... A lot more range and depth is necessary for a proper approach...
blahblah, now: just read the damn article, I guess
(sorry, I could've picked someone worse to pick on than Moore, but I watched "Martial Law" yesterday and in that documentary Moore says something very very outrageous re. 911... So, he's my hate-mate of the day...)

Maybe the US of A should review its gun laws in light of all these senseless killings. How many innocent lives need to be lost at American schools, pre-k, universities dorms b4 the Bush decide to go against the wishes of NRA.
I remembered when I was at one major city in 1990, the Police offered 50 bucks for a handgun and 100 bucks for a rifle and within a week they collected 6,000 guns........go figure, just one city.

Jack "I'll never shut up" Thompson now threatens Bill Gates... :

doesn't matter that the shooter had no videogames or anything hinting at him being a fanatic gamer in his dorm...??? Why doesn't thompson attack the makers of prozac etc? Every nut-shooter, the unabomber etc etc... They all had one, and ONLY 1 thing in common: ssri's!
