Don't worry of virus problems on your cells, because the most of the viruses are custom made for windows. It is possible for a Pocket PC to get a virus. But on a cell, don't think so.

Linux does not have a virus problem, and that means that main viruses infect most windows main frames...

Sorry too say that but it is possible on simple phone without java or things like that, it's spread via sms message ... 2 or 3 years ago we had an alert from proximus that a virus is spreading trough cell phones it copys your sim it and send the data to the creator so he can use your card and your money !!!!

This is real !!!!!

That's got to be rubbish... how could it possibly do that? It's just an Urban Legend.

There was a "virus" (actually just spam sms) on a European network a year or so ago - Telefonica I think it was called. But it didn't (and couldn't) do anything to your phone, SIM, or mobile account.

Of course you can get a virus on your phone, all a virus is, is a piece of software, wouldn't you call hidden piece of software that calls the talking clock in Taiwan a virus, because it would be possible to make! and if you get sent it to your cel via email, or download it wia wap, then it would happen

Oh and 1 more thing, the only reason that Microsoft products have more virus problems than anyone else, is that people who make virus's want them to spead and do as much damage as possible, windows just so happens to be the most used platform, and therefore is the main target (BTW I'm not a MS fan, I hate most of their stuff, just stating the facts)

It true that there can be viruses but as far as I know, they can only be spread through sms. They range from making your phone hang, screwing with your software or even messing with your sim. These viruses are actually downloadable through the net. Search some underground sites if you're interested but do beware if you start receiving sms from strange numbers. Somtimes the numbers have around 5 digits like those that the operators use.
