I don't think it's so much about the price, but I guess with the more expensive phones, they were designed to look more classy anyway, and hence they don't look too bad in gold.

It looks fine on phones like the 8800, but this just looks like a quick cover change.
If it's going to be gold, then other parts of the design should accommodate it, i.e. the keypad or the orange trim.

gold and w880 are 2 different worlds imo... 8800 and sirocco yes, that looks good, but not on a middle range fone, its really pointless and waste
