Well I love animals and being a vegan that's evidence of that, and although I can't really say I "hate" spiders because technically they've done nothing more wrong to me than any other animal including humans, yet I do have a phobia of them and I'm afraid they must either flee my house of vanquish. Spiders are "special" in that way I guess, there are some other creepy's and other animals that I wouldn't fancy getting too close to, but spiders just top the fear list. Apparently if you have a parent that fears something, you from a child are often likely to get this fear too; so I guess my mum is to blame then...

EDIT: It's definately the legs!

@xugaa

My mum wasn't frightened of anything and I developed phobias. Large flying insects aren't my favourite either. Maybe a Dragonfly flew into my pram as a child

Off topic: Did anyone watch that phobias program on BBC3 I think it was, and that woman was absolutely scared shitless of buttons?

Just the buttons on peoples clothes. Now what is what you call an irrational phobia.

Yeah, of course there are exceptions to getting phobias, that's just a theory that I heard.

And yeah about the buttons, I saw on tv a woman that was terrified of pickles or something, she'd cry and even run away by just looking at a photo...
