In O2 shops, most of our contract phones are unlocked. As it turns out even the XDA Orbit is unlocked! But ANYTHING on pay as you go etc, is ALWAYS locked.
Unlike CPW and P4U we don't import vanilla unlocked stock for use on P&G, the only reason they do that is because it's cheaper and quicker when your selling multiple networks.

CPW get them in Bulk cheap so hence why they sell us PAYG's Sim Free
02 Shops often sell locked handsets, Bougt a 6230i from one ages ago that was locked!
I bought mine and my girlfriends K800 from the O2 shop Kerry. I've not used CPW for over 2 years now after the P900 they sold me had so many problems.

I did work for there Distribution Centre and I was horrified how they treated the stock there, just flung them about
