Okay, just to give an update for those 'concerned':
I have bought this BST-40 and use it since for many weeks now. Perfectly fitting the P990 battery compartment (even takes away the sometimes annoying squeezing noise)!
Since then this phone has much more power, expecially if you use it with an external GPS via Bluetooth and/or the media player to listen to mp3s.
So anybody not using this, too bad
