my m600i has no place of manufacture mentioned on the sticker in the battery compartment and there's no mention of it on the box either.. so any idea where mine's made in? Can someone post a picture of the battery compartment sticker of their made in france m600i?

yes i've seen that picture but what i actually meant was that do the m600s made in france actually have 'Made in France' written on the sticker and if so then does that mean that stickers with no mention of place of manufacture(like mine) are Made in China or are they Made in France?

well to add my contribution the box of my orange branded m600i says made in china - god only knows why though, i'd have thought it a better idea to get them from france considering orange are french...anyway

i can't check the actual phone as the damn thing is still at the repair centre

I seem to recall that some phones aren't labelled with their country of manufacture simply because, in the countries in which they're sold, they aren't legally required to be. They probably are just made in China like the majority, it just so happens that in certain countries they don't need to tell you that.

Mine's Chinese (originally a Vodafone UK branded handset, now unbranded), and there's nowt wrong with it.

Easy, China and Asia to be precise offer 60% or more of the entire chips and all electronic parts.I trust them, as long as they are not obvius fakes.

is there even such a thing as a fake m600? it just seems ridiculous to me? I doubt any1 can make a phone cheaper than the original manufacturer.

most fake phones look similar to the real deal but wouldnt run the symbian operating system. usually they have mini usb connectors and support for sd ram and a proper headphone socket instead of the fastport connector and sony mem stick duo pro etc. Im sure some one had posted sumthing on this with regard to fake w800 phones etc!!!

http://www.clubsonyericsson.c[....]-w800-and-k700-found-in-china/

so i guess what i am saying is that if the phone is running symbian has support for mem stick duo etc its pretty hard to say its a fake even if it has a made in china sticker ???!!!!
