If you read my entire post, you would've understood that I do think there's a problem with "troll posts" (or "fan wars", if you prefer), I don't enjoy the fanboy threads, I just ignore them. The only thing that can be done about it is to lock those threads.
The examples of comments that you came with, however, is not what I think should be locked. Your first post could easily be interpretated that you didn't want people to express their opinion, hence my comment.

I've criticised SE, moto and nokia on this site, and honestly: the worst, most unfounded attacks came from SE-fanboys; from others came nonsense answers as well, but really nasty stuff: SE-side quite often... sorry! anyway, your point is right, the scope is too narrow by far!!!!!!

You are so right, I myself have oft wondered why these people are so angry with SE when they obviously don't even use SE phones. Why does it even matter to them that SE isn't "as good" (their opinion not mine) as Nokia? Or that SE don't have the latest and greatest technology (despite Nokia failing to produce a single viable touchscreen smartphone, something SE can do better than Nokia). Funny thing, when you browse Nokia forums, there don't seem to be massive postings by SE users about all the ills of Nokia
I personally don't see SE as better than Nokia, but I certainly don't see SE as "failing to produce good phones" either as one thread claims. And I also don't see Nokia as producing better phones, though in some areas they obviously have the edge on SE.
Still, it doesn't worry me if they want to post bull, I'll respond with long winded boring arguments (but based on fact and reason, not emotion) until they get the shits and move on
btw, I don't mind people posting their opinion when they give valid reasons, but I do agree with you that many of the posts lately are SE bashing, and also Nokia bashing by some of the SE fanboys. But often the SE fanboys are just responding to illogical "I hate SE" arguments from the "darkside".
I've argued long and hard in favour of SE, but in doing so I have never once felt the need to denigrate Nokia or Nokia users.

The thing is, we have some great discussions from peeps who actually have constructive critisicisms, and who raise valid points, which is fantastic, but then others who just bitch about anything SE, who just hate SE outrlght.
Like, for example, why would I join a Moto forum just to tell everyone how much I despise Moto? All day every day?
I dont understand it really. .

there will always be bad apples amongst good ones, if you're saying that SE criticism should stop altogether, its not going to happen. you cant expect everyone to just "support" SE each and every time.
generally if you don't like somethingthing in a forum, ignore it, it is after all a public forum, and i havnt seen any mod complain yet.

So what's perfect for me, can be useless for someone else, I have to respect his choice and he should respect mine.
Say, I buy a good new camera, for example the newest Nikon, what do I do next?
Do I register on a Nikon forum, to get the newest tips and tricks ?
Or do I register on a Canon forum, to post in as many threads as possible, that their cam's are cr*p, they should've bought a beautiful Nikon, as I did, because I know everything and I'm perfect ?
Of course I wouldn't think of doing the latter, as this would be pure, pointless negativism and besides : I do have a live !
But this is exactly what some people (not all !) are doing here.
So at this point I agree with >500 here.
