But having seen the YouTube clip the W960 does not seem to be the fastest kid on the block (bit like an early P990i) so i would have to see if that is just a proto problem or not.

Well W960 isn't that fast but the reason it looks slow in the u-tube videos is that the animations/transition are turned on... The P990 still feels slow with animations on...

The W960's certainly had me thinking, but I'm edging closer to my first choice - the P1 - again. Having used the M600 for months I know that the "pseudo qwerty" keyboard is probably the best thing SE have come up with in years, and on balance I think it's a must-have for me now - I've been spoiled for standard keypads.

Aesthetics aside, the one functional thing which divides the two phones, when you come down to it, is that keyboard...

yes looks like i like the w960 better aswell even though i have never used a walkman phone before......
i have always used the smartphones from SE, the 910, now the 990 and before the smartphones i had the k800i, t610, and the t68i...

before the w960i was announced i was definately gonna buy the p1i without any doubts, but now i think it might just be worth the wait to get the w960 instead!

WE KNOW!!! and if you read the posts carefully you will see we are making the point that we would have to wait and see if the problem is prototype related or if the problem continues into production models

@nitro
i may have come across a little rude the way i said that, sorry guess i could have put it more politely. how ever, i did read all posts, noticed one or 2 saying something about its speed, but they didnt mention anything bout it being a proto that could be causing the slowness.

Fair play, my response was supposed to be tounge in cheek so no offence taken I am sure. that does look like a nice phone though doesnt it would suit me down to the ground, and I have two upgrades due whoopie!!

What I plan on doing is getting them as soon as someone like SE-Unlock can unlock and reflash them, that way I get generic phones for nothing more than what I pay SE-Unlock. Cant see the point in paying anyone top dollar when most of the time I have to spend hours of my very valuable time updating them just to get them to do what it says on the tin!

Thank god the first phones to enter Norway are NEVER branded, also, the longest contract period legal in Norway is 12 months. Mine ended in late May so I'm good and ready for something new. Hopefully something that can replace both my K800 and M600.
The P1 seemed like the best choice, I love the keyboard! But I'm having serious issues with the speed of my M600. If the P1 and W960 are as slow as the M600 I wouldn't have one if you threw it at me.
