I've got the Ericson W850i it is an excellent phone walkman video in your pocket thing, I used to own Ipod 20gig and after getting this phone my ipod got dusty in a draw (sold on ebay 6 mnths ago). I then started converting my dvd collection to 3gp files and they play perfectly entire movies on my phone I have two 4 gig memory sticks one movies n tv shows the other music , for me this phone will take some beating and all these new ones with fixed amounts of memory with no prospect of expansion have not got a look in, if someone knows of a better one let me know I am due a free upgrade but have not bothered with it due to being content with this phone

SE W900 was the best walkman phone before it was meant to be replaced by W910 and W960 as the leader in best walkman experience. since you are asking which was best walkman W960 it is clearly that the W960 was the best ever

it's a combination of a PDA, Camera, PMP, and a phone

Best

phone is definately the

810i
* Best headset, speaker quality through.
* Walkman 1.0 (wish 2.0 was there.
* AUto focus 2MP camera with 4x Zoom.
W800 blows, no dedicated Activity Button + Walkman Button - W810 as 1 for each And W810 is QUADBAND GPRS + EDGE (W800 doesn't have that, so it blows by comparison). Its only limitation was 1 Java App at a time.
Take note, that SE is VERY careful not to release such a quality feature packed phone again.
Best upgrade, considering same form factor is the W610
* If you need Quadband GPRS/EDGE (W910 thats doesn't have this; 3G though)
* If you prefere

2.0 its there.
* Still need 2MP + AutoFocus (W910 thats upcoming doesn't have this)
* you gain A2DP
* You gain slimmer phone, only slightly.
Possible Con by comparison = M2 card. You're 4/8GB MSDuo Pro you'll have to sell along with the W810.
My advice - keep the W810 for a backup or for rough sports outtings.
* If you need 3G but want a candy bar & don't need 850Mhz N.A. band - W880i is a good choice. Slider go for the W910i but remember you loose the AutoFocus Camera.
* If you need 3G, candy bar, don't need 850Mhz N.A. Band, like big buttons only choice is the W660i.
2nd best walkman phone INDEED is the W900i.
INCREDIBLE QVGA VIdeo recording!
I'm going for the W580 Slider as I prefer it but with only 12MB memory I'm worried about the 1 app java limitation.
Hope this is helpful.

If you're taking into account size & weight and speed of the GUI, then i hafta agree with everyone.... the W810 is the best. But if those three are disregarded, the W900 dominates over it. It's the best all rounder phone you can get so far, but soon that will be replaced by the W960; although some may not prefer it's touch sensative screen and scroll wheel, along with no d-pad.
The W910 may or may not be meant to replace the W900, but if it was, the W900 still overpowers it. The only thing different is that it's thinner, lighter, walkman 3.0, faster GUI, and that accelorometer or w/e. The W900 still beats it with it's camera, accelerated 3D graphics chip, built-in memory, and accessibility to an 8gb memory stick pro duo.
Although I personally HATE the W810's look, small resolution, and candybar style phone.
Since I just got my W900i stolen from me

I've decided to choose style over functionality; the S500 basically has the same features except it has a MUCH worse camera, but is about 1cm thinner. As much as I'd love to get another W900i, I wanna try something new.
Which is also why I'm gonna get a W910 once it comes out too.
(I live in Canada so I can't exactly use 3g here as of yet)

w810 hands down is the best walkman so far. Good battery, screen (though has small resolution), quadband, edge etc. w900 comes second only because of sluggish menu interface (slower than w810) and shorter standby/ talk time. (though w900 has amazing video recording

) The 2mp autofocus cam of w610 is no match for the cam of w810/w900. unacceptable amount of noise in pictures. the smaller focal length of w610 (3.8mm vs w810/w900's 4.8mm) really is a letdown. How i wish

wont compromise imaging in their next walkman phone.. and that wish is granted! waiting for w960.
