Where? I heard about the Atlantic one the other day. Have you got a link?

I wonder when these missions stop becoming missions and become sabre-rattling.

they are sabre rattling....

and it doesnt take a genius to work out its all about the north pole and its natural resources. US National geological has estimated 25% of the worlds oil and gas are in the north pole. so that'll be the new iraq....

QUOTE: A senior air force source said: “The Russians have been keeping us very busy recently, and the frequency of their transgressions is growing.”

What do you reckon is gonna happen?

Denmark, Greenland, Canada and the US are all gonna have to claim 'their' share.

What exactly are they going to fight over? A great big patch of frozen tundra?

Yeah but if they start fighting how will they know when to stop? Will they build bases on their section of the Arctic and just start drilling?

The thing is, if they spent a fraction of the money they spend on defence on lookin for a alternative fuel the problem would be solved.

However, I'll be surpised if a fight broke out. I don't think the UK has an Arctic territorial claims has it?

Plus with them being members of NATO an attack on one is an attack on all.

What happened to our North Sea Oil and Gas? Are we saving that for emergencies? I thought there were huge deposits under the North Sea?
