Each company use different criteria when carrying out searches, so it may be that you will pass with one and not another!

Also one may check with Experian and the other Equifax and these credit scoring companies may hold different information!

To be honest most networks have a similar credit score points limit! Most networks have increased the points needed to reduce bad debt they gained several years ago in am attempt to outdo each other with customer base numbers! If a network notices it gbp a high decline rate and there connections are droppin, they'll reduce the score needed by a small margin to compensate and get connections up! 3 requires the lowest score (or so i'm told) as there desperate to get the numbers in! From a personal point of view, i would always use a network owned shop as they can always refer a decision if they think somethin has gone wrong and get a quick response! Hope this helps :-)

To confirm:

Multiple credit checks WILL have a detrimaental effect on your credit rating.
Accroding to Equifax (and I believe Experian take the same line), "credit grantors views more than two searches within six months as unfavourable."

However, that said, there are numerous elements that make up your credit score (i.e. history of repayments of loans/credit cards; length of time at address, county court judgements, time with bank, electrol role etc...).
The amount your score will have decreasxed as a result of a 2nd check is likley to be very small.

It pays to check!!

It normally cost's £2 each to request the information both Equifax and Experian hold on yourself, and is well worth checking over from time to time to ensure all details they hold are correct, i.e. check your address is correct, when I moved different companies held different addresses for myself and took ages to update their records some failed miserably in doing so, so I kept nagging them!
