besides this everything is as it was in the previous fw. actually the phone didnt really need a fw update..it is stable and reliable as it should be.

No one of my problems in previous firmwares has resolved in this. Is my first and last SE in my life's. Symbian 9.x and uiq 3.x programmers SUCKS.
Really disapoinment whit this Smartphone, very very plaged of stupid's bugs, buy this w950i in november of 2006 and never work correctly. Hardware promise much and the software implemented in this model really is a very BIG disaster.
No one operator ofered this cellphone in my country(Argentina) and now i know why.

I tried to follow the guide posted here in the forum but it seems the new update prevents me from doing it - as the update just starts it gives an error and close the application. lucky for me, it didn't kill the phone.
Would highly appreciate those two magical files (or even better, the whole directory)
FYI - I bought two W950i phones in Belgium. I did tried to get an update and i ended up with my mobile being downgraded to a previous version of the phone (R9F011 while I had R9G007). errr... and obviously it's a CDA R4A02 so I can't upgrade now to the latest version.

UPDATE -
YES, it works!!!
my PC downloaded again (7th of August) the db, or at least a big part of it, and now I tried again. and it worked!
added features - auto configuration for internet...NICE1

I tried upgrading my software today and before upgrading i got the message that my phone already has the latest version. I clicked contunue anyway button and after upgrade i got

So basically this fw update is nothing much except some reports of apps being started up faster n scrolling menu is faster. Other then that, the sound remains the same as in previous fw.
Any other significant changes to the alarm sound? able to sound loud in mp3?
