@sapporobaby: i cant seem to hit vox.com from Dubai for some reason...they might be blocking it, i dunno... they've got flickr blocked, go figure

@amnesia: Dubai been here a few weeks now, heading back to Boston this week.

I will try to add some more here. Also, I posted a few in the "Photo's" section. Wish I were back in the Mid East. Love it there.

@Jojo, I will be heading out today. I will take a few. Actually I was going to try and experiment. I would take some with my E90 and some with my Nikon D80 (I will use .jpg to make things fair) and see if there is a major difference.

Looks like you were behind Shaikh Zayed Road? Looks like the car parks on the right hand side belonging to the hotels lining the road, at least if you're close the beginning of the road at the World Trade Center.


The railway station in Helsinki . . . if I was there now then I would pop in and buy a lihapirakka from one of the kiosks. (Lihapirakka is the Finnish version of a deep-fried non-spicy meat samosa for you Middle East / South East Asia folks.) Next time my dad comes to visit us here in Muscat, I'll ask him to bring a few, if he can confirm that it is Halal

Not really. I used to live in Sharjah, the neighboring emirate but was relocated to Muscat, Oman eight years ago. I visited Dubai last week for education. Stayed in the Number One Tower Suites on Shaikh Zayed Rd. The view from my room was very similar to the one in your photo.

That means my room faced the back and I didn't have to see this:
