i have all the UIQ 3.0 of SE devices, P1i is a great device, say the least, it is recommended, hence, i'd advice you to try and test it, and since everyone has got different opinions, you are the only one who have the right whether it's recommended or not

@Dogmann

i think se scared off a lot of people when they butchered the p990.. carriers are afraid... that's why nobody wants it..

the p1i price point is low... at release it was expensive because resellers try to milk you for all you're worth.

to this day i have only found 2-3 bugs in my phone... and honestly the only one that bothers me is the timezone thing... the list of bugs still in the p1i for the p990 are so minor and finicky that i don't even think they're worth fixing at times....i can't even think of one off the top of my head....i rather they tweak the ui and improve functionality and usablity then worry about petty bugs...

again se's p1i in my eyes is nothing but a band-aid solution in an attempt to establish a little bit dignity back into the uiq lineup.. for those that will give it a chance they should enjoy it... others will continue to call it a glorified p990 and miss out...

i'm not a p990 user the p990 ui was a complete mess imo. the standby screen was useless.... i did have the m600 for a while about 6 months ago.... i was using a k790 and n95 for most of this year.. and honestly i personally think that if you can use s60 you can use uiq.. it's pretty much the same thing.....

@DragonEye

Now you really are going to far your last quote makes me appear to have said things i have never said. If you wish to twist the words i use don't claim they are my quotes and i challenge you to show me and the Forum where i have said those things as they are lies and that makes you a LIAR and a fraud.

If there is one thing i can't stand and have no respect for that is a LIAR and that is what you are and the lowest and the low and if you find my reply insulting good because that is exactly as it is intended.

If you can't face facts and the truth you are even more sad then i could of imagined get a life and face reality for a change you may actually realise a few things and just what a pathetic individual you actually are whose idea of self importance is vastly over rated.

Marc

Let's just put it this way: the fact that SE has published some specifications for a phone does not necessarily mean that you will be getting those specifications when you actually buy the phone. We learned it the hard way when we bought the P990 on that assumption. Considering that the P1 is basically a P990 with more memory and a different form factor, IF SE decides to stop support for P1 it will be left in a similar state to the P990, it is an interim product after all. However, the flip and keyboard are a matter of personal taste, so you may or may not like it.

The guys at mobileburn don't know much of advanced phones, they compare everything to their local (locked to the ass) phones given by the USA providers. The will praise the iphone, the blackberry or any palm junk. It is their right though to express any opinion they want, but in general I find their reviews really dumby so i don't take them very serious.

Hah. Yeah,I would like to hear a real explanation as well.

edit: preferably in specifics, coherent laungage and sound reasoning - on the P1 wiki.

But, until then, here's my take on it. The p1 is a compact device that doesn't suffer too much from the usual two- megapixel sickness. It has expansion options for memory that won't cost an arm and a leg, as well as decent in- built capacity. In fact no other phone has that much ram right now. The battery is also good, and so is the lack of battery- draining standby apps. Neither is it bigger than a pocket, even if it has a decently sized screen. Which actually allows the phone to operate for several days on light use. However, that does not mean the battery is gone if you use the phone for more than texting and a few calls. Indeed, you will have to use the device constantly to run out of battery before the day is over. And so there is no need to carry a second battery and a charger, perhaps also in addition to the car- charger.

In other words, it's an efficient unit without lots of the gripes that all other smartphones I've tried have suffered from. Such as instantly dead battery, draining battery, and frequent hangs, errors and general incompatibility with everything from the power- outlet to the file format and external storage. As well as programs that could only impress someone who has already decided that the 'newest and greatest' is the most useful thing since the automatic bread- turning toaster.

..And obviously, that is unforgivable if you own a N95 that barely lasts you six hours. If you don't use it for more than texting and a bit of talking.

And that's the problem with the p1. Obviously.
