I use and like both UI's but I find UIQ the most user friendly!

I'd love to see the Linux penguin on an SE phone's boot-up someday, it's so consistent with the feel of SE Java phones - individualist for the sake of efficiency, elegant but not stiff, with a sense of humor but not gaudy. But it'll be Symbian i guess if ever non-touchscreen phones do happen!

IMHO WM in hardscreen formfactor is a complete waste of effort - WM is most usefull as a touchscreen OS and many of the advantages of WM have to do with the "mouse like" input of the stylus - these features don't apply to hardscreen phones (smartphone or not). UIQ and s60 UI's are much better suited to hardscreen phones than WM. WM is really for PDA like phones - for those who prefer touchscreens on smartphones (like myself). Still, SE has a touchscreen UI that is perfectly fine, so no need to WM.
What I'd like to see from SE is a UIQ touchscreen in a slide formfactor with dpad or joystick and softkeys like non UIQ SE handsets, with keypad under slide. Best of bopth worlds then

anyway the UIQ 3 was the first OS platform to able have animations/transitions effect in it's menu/sub menus. S60 will have that capability in their FP2 revision. although FP1 allows the V-shape transitions in the manu but not in submenus.

That's the point. WM is superior than UIQ not becouse OS itself but becouse there are tons of applications. I can choose between 15 kinds of navigation software with my WM6 devices for example. Do I need to say more?
In the past there were faboulous devices with Palm OS made by Sony. If it's possible to pack WM into them...
