Elvis died on the toilet from heart attack brought on by addiction to painkillers and uppers. We have him to thank for modern Rock and Roll.
Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, Sid Vicious are other great musicians who tragically succumbed to addiction.

i was never a jh fan and have my own opinion about those stars who did suicide, but imo a dedicated thread, especially when the satrter DO asked to keep on topic, shouldnt look like this...
its not about jimmy, MORE to honour and respect the poster...

you just don't get it do you? If you want to discuss the evils of drug taking and suicide, start another thread. This was supposed to be a dedication thread. If you saw a Jimi Hendrix memorial concert, would you stand at the gate shouting out how stupid he was for taking drugs? (you probably would - then again you might also get the shit bashed out of you by pissed off fans)

@max - I've heard LOTS of different things about his death to this very day
same with Bruce Lee

Never heard much about this Jimi Hendrix . . . yes, I know that he is a great-guitarist . . . . . but I'm certain that there are still lots of other GREAT guitarist out there (specially in Jazz . . .) who can surpass his achievements. Be it as it may . . . may HE (soul) rest in peace !
