in my experience, paypal rarely helps "the victim" and usually will give the victory away to whoever's making the error. they're staying strong in business because they are eBay's child company, which of course, makes them pretty much in "God" status about people's money. there won't be much to do, plus your case are in 2 different countries (UK and US). wish you luck for everything. oh, anyway, if you ever need to see a company with worse performance (in handling people's money) than PayPal, try liquidation dot com. paypal's much better compared to them

lol well I've been using paypal alot, but not much different than I have in the past.

The supplier is AT&T, but a person I know goes to various stores around the country searching for 1.0.2 version iPhones.

Long story short, I sent them everything they asked for, they sent an email asking for MORE.

I called and they said "write a letter explaining why you can't provide receipts and fax it to us".

PAYPAL IS MY RECEIPT!!

They're making up stuff as they go along because I faxed them over my Law Degree, passport, and a PHOTO of a huge pile of iPhones

paypal are two faced bastards.
They act all friendly but do nothing.

They 'advised' the american guy to 'sever ties' with me for risk of fraud.

What the hell? I've been running Widgx for YEARS and using paypal too!

So I thought I'd do a little test and asked one of the customers to make a complaint on paypal saying that I was a good person and that paypal had no right to block me.

They replied to him saying, "Who do you trust? A well known international company or some stranger"

So it looks like paypal isn't just about f***ing up people's lives, they want to decide who your friends are too.

AND they don't mind ruining a businesses reputation!

I sent them an email two days back and they haven't replied.

The punks ALSO asked me to provide receipts for payment of some iPhones when I paid THROUGH PAYPAL. They also asked me to get the customers to email them telling them they received the iPhones, but they didn't give me an email to email to and the if you reply to the one they email from, it bounces back.

Paypal are the largest scammers on earth!

Hi Amensia and all,

I have to say i agree Pay Pal have seriously got really bad of late, i bought an iPod 80GB and my Pay Pal payments are made via direct debit from my Bank account received confirmation of payment made and the iPod arrived. In the meantime went to my bank checked my balance and paid off my credit card bills leaving a balance in my account. Then 14 days after the transaction i receive a E-Mail from Pay Pal saying payment was declined checked my bank account and they had taken over 10 days to claim payment costing me £38 for a declined payment and on the day i received the first E-Mail they attempted to collect payment again costing me another £38 pounds.

Spoke to them and got refunded £36 and also got the same refunded from my bank, but they really are useless now as i received the iPod before they took my money. So no longer trust them if i sell something that they won't reclaim the money back. More worrying is i could buy anything on E-bay the seller will send it to me and i won't of paid yet and if i can do that I'm sure others can to. Which reminds me must close Pay Pal account today.

Marc

A mate of mine had his account hacked, and some people off ebay were buting nice expensive phones. They were good about the whole affair, and have given him his money back, but how can someone hack into his account? This is the second case that I have heard of, so I cancelled my account with them, as I dont use it that much.

no. by chance he had logged onto his paypal account, and noticed a couple of sales for £280. Upon closer inspection, someone had put 2 debit cards onto his account, with zero money in, so for some reason these payments came from his account.
Paypal apparently froze his account, as they suspected something fraudulent happening.
He now has his money back, and his account is closed.
