The MORAL of BUYING-story is NEVER, ever, ever BUY fones on it's initial launch ! Common sense dictates to BUY it some months after . . . .

OK - everyone who is saying that it is a good deal is crazy. People - With the exception of a slightly better camera, the K850 is no different that its predecessor... There are no HSDPA offerings in North America right now..
At a price of $650, I rather buy a freakin LapTop!!
I'll jump in when this baby hits $400 - $450... And even that is high considering no wifi.
What are you talking about no HSDPA offerings? Are you referring to no Network offering or phone offerigns? In both cases you are Wrong because I'm currently using an HTC TyTN aka 8525 which is HSDPA running MEASURED at 1.1mbps on the AT&T network. That's HSDPA phone on HSPDA network.
As for the price - $600+ on ebay is typical opening of a new product on ebay. I recall the RAZR selling for $1000 back in the day. Need I point out PS2 and PS3 launch prices? I remember them also going for more than a grand on ebay. The price will be around $450 when it there are enough vendors, and I really REALLY hope that AT&T will get their act together and make an offering with this incredible phone! I wouldn't mind paying $300 + 2yr contract to get it honestly!
You really can't compare European prices to the real market prices in the US. The dollar might be weak, but things are cheaper in general here when they are officially introduced by vendors. Look at DSLR cameras - The Nikon D300 is set to be released for $1800 in the US and 1980Euro in Europe... That's because the price reflects the market. When SE does release the phone it'll probably be the same way - it'll cost the same amount in either denomination...

on my new price list i got today from my supplier, k850 price went down $15usd and w910i down $12usd.... well that k850 price was with the pv-705 bt headset comparing to last weeks list as that was the only option on it, but this week there is now the option with out the headset, and its $30usd cheaper. so cant say what the drop was with out the headset.
but hey, it still dropped, and will drop more and more in coming weeks.

Price is down to just below USD 600 right now. There are still others trying to sell it for USD 700 +.

I been a SE fan for a few years but after I heard nokia coming with the n95 8 gb for about the same price (rumors) why K850??
Same price ? Man, we should all move to Canada.
The cheapest preorder N95 8G price here in Sweden is around 1 055 USD (N95 8G will be out in December here). Cheapest normal N95 is around 809 USD. That should be compared to cheapest K850, which is around 655 USD. Despite our high VAT here, I have hard time to believe the price difference of N95 8G between Canada and Sweden will be almost 400 USD. It does not make sense (but then not everything in the world does necessarely make sense).
