> K850 bugs!

my k850i has a few bugs aswell
btw it's unbranded so the problem lays with SE
problems are:
- the UI is very slow
- i delete the plutonium song that comes with the phone but it seems to stay in media player (i try and delete it from media player but it says failed, also restarted phone, same problem)
- the phone itself it kind of slow
thats about it
but i love it still

But i am sure the people that are experiencing these problems are far from happy with their very expensive new devices that are failing to deliver what they have paid for. Even if as you call it they are Monday phones what happened to testing before shipping or are SE just so great they don't bother wasting time and money on such mundane procedures any more, after all they have their customers money so why should they care.
The funniest thing is when people complained of problems with the N73 or N95 you are all how terrible this is and all Nokia's are rubbish or worse and that's on a far more complicated smart phone. Yet when it's a SE product well it's not important is it it's just a few bad units what a hypocrite you are how about SE quality control sucks and this shouldn't be happening to any especially only a newly launched premium device.

How come the K850i is on the new, faster, platform and yet video playback is worse than on my W880 and T650!! I've got a load of video files encoded at around 300Kbps, and on the K850i they can stutter and the sound goes out of sync by as much as 5 seconds!!
Also, the touch-buttons often stop responding. I've pressed the middle button about 20 times before it responded - clearly the phone had frozen while doing somthing. However, my W910i doesn't seem to have the same problems with the hardware buttons!!
Finally, I've been taking photos and despite having the final firmware, the images look terrible when shown at 100% on my screen. I've never seen so much noise, especially noticeable on things like black and white text. I gave it the benefit of the doubt when I saw the pre-release models in Berlin and London, but this is the same model customers are paying good money for. Even the T650i can manage sharper, more defined, images even though they're about half the size.
First impressions are definitely NOT good.

Dogmann is absolutely right ,whenever a Nokia gets a problem , you guys are like all the time calling a cheap stuff and all ... but when a SE is having this kind of problem , you guys think its just a little problem of the Firmware !

I'm probably seen as a SE fanboy, but the K850i just doesn't look finished and I'm not going turn a blind eye to this sort of thing! I can't access the Games menu now and pressing select DID respond (semi circle appearing to confirm touchkey worked) but no games menu. Now, after a while longer, it says "Operation Failed".

I'm sure a reboot will fix it, but I had to reboot it about an hour ago when the media player slowed to a crawl. Should I reboot it every 30 minutes (perhaps SE could add a menu option, like automatic email retrieval).
As said before, this needs a firmware update more desperately than any other phone I've seen from SE (possibly the P990i was a close second).
Oh, and in music mode I managed to select 'resume' and it is showing a screen with track 1 of 0! Press play and it says "Failed". So, where did that track go then!! Oh guess what... reboot time!

I think Dogmann is right about the nature of the posters on this site, however conversly I think that bugs like the ones mentioned by the posters on this forum (the early adopters) are to be expected from any new device like this. Most companies now adays rush items out without the proper amount of testing, Nokia included. I think that in the long run these reported problems are minor and "teething problems" at best. This is one of the main reasons why I never rush out right away to buy the newest latest and greatest electronic item from any of my favorite manufacturers (Apple, Nokia, and Sony Ericsson included) the day they are released. Companies like Sony Ericsson know all to well that their hardcore installed user base will go out and buy whatever it is that they offer up, in whatever half baked capacity that maybe. I personally, a Sony Ericsson fan, am content to take a "wait and see stance" while all of the reports come in from the "devoted hardcore early adopters" of the shortcomings of said device, before I ultimately wait to make my informed purchase, if at all. You dig? So, just that we clarify what I've said and nothing gets misconstrued; almost all major manufacturers are guilty of rushing items to retail. And yes some people are guilty of being hypocrites on this site, but in all fairness to them THIS IS a predominentally Sony Ericsson Fan site, so try to bare their blind allegience to said company with a grain of salt. As for their grammar or lack there of, well.....

Look at the N95, When the phone was first released it was dreadful with bugs, However 6-8 months later and the bugs are slowly being ironed out an now i think the phone is much much better.
This will be he same with the k850i. It has a New UI which I agree is slower that than K810 or K800.
and I have also noticed that the video is out of sync.
From what i know and through experience, SE, Nokia do read forums like these so comments with problems do go back to them for assesing and then to be fixed in future firmwares.
Things and fixes dont happen over night and though even one person may have a fault, that doesnt mean other people have the same issue.
There are lots of facts that can cause certain issues. From Network Branding to Applications installed.
I also know that quick fixes are not the way forward, It just doesnt work.
You could fix one issue, but then cause 10 more down the line. They first have to understand why and what is causing the issue, this isnt easy. I know trust me (Ruch things and your there 10 times longer and still only end up where you started at)
I have a O2 K850i and noticed people comments regarding the volume control, This is something i havnt found, so not sure if its just your phone.
Again the auto rotate, I know on my phone it hasnt failed yet, works every time.
My GPRS works and disconnects with out a problem so not sure on this one either.
Theres is one other persons comment regarding the RSS Webfeeds (Whos branding is this) I have webfeeds and use them with out a problem, but ive also deleted SE and put my own there. You can also switch of the auto update function, so if you dont use them it doesnt cost you.
Dont Give up hope becuase of the few problems, My Current K810 and K800 are pretty much flawless in handling anything and im sure that the K850 will be the same.

It's a shame that certain things still haven't appeared on my nice new K850. If I miss a text message, you can't get it to show anything visible on the phone, not can you get it to repeat the vibrate/chime every few minutes. How do SE fans cope with this big shortcoming?
It's also a shame that where the D900 was stable for 12 months, the K850 didn't manage 12 hours.

Every phone does have its problems, but i do agree that samsung do seem more robust with the firmware. However there are more options on a SE than a Samsung?

-isn't that what smart search is suppose to do? it pulls up the numbers with that number... please explain how it could be more efficient...
9. I want the option to change what the left touch button does. I don't want a link to media.
