I can confirm that the phone will display 'H' near the signal bar when it comes into a HSDPA area.

In fact, O2 UK have just switched it on in my area today!! Also, Vodafone UK is supposed to have HSDPA coverage as wide as it's 3G.

Hmm - interesting to hear that it displays on some networks. I always find it amazing how differently things can be implemented on each of the networks!

Is your phone O2 branded?

Well I got mine from O2 so in a way yes it is: but only so far as they changed the startup and power-down screen to an O2 logo and one icon in the menu.

Not anything like the butchering of Vodafone's software.

T-Mobile seem to have followed O2's minimalist strategy too - shame Orange like competing with Vodafone to see who can butcher a phone's firmware more!

I am on O2 and this evening the H symbol appeared instead of the 3G one. I guess they must have switched over not too long ago.

O2 and Hsdpa dont go together very well. O2 have the lowest 3g network coverage, and you can only get 200 meg. Yesterday I used up 700 meg, I sure wouldnt like a 200 meg limit.

I've still not managed to see the 'H' symbol on my O2 K850i, I'm wondering if it its because it has a t-mobile sim in it.
