Hi!

for me it was easy... My friends here had no real interest in mobile phones. Calls and texts only.

Yes, I know that is what many want, but I wanted to see my email in Japanese so I could communicate with friends there in Japan.

A Sony phone, forgot it's model number. J-3. JZ-3?

CHECKED IT OUT.... Sony CMD-J5

could actually receive Japanese but it's email client was simple, like one email at a time... The Sharp 902 could also receive, but no input.

So to cut a long story short, I could find here, at Esato, lots of clues to help me solve my need. Many Esatonians were willing to help !

I joined some other fourms but help was not always forthcoming! Some people in those forums has the attitude " I know something that you don't know "

I also used to be amused by people buying Japanese models of E-Bay, and finding they could not be unlocked ! Even then, they could not be used outside of Japan.

After using an old black Motorola Brick-like black phone, forgot the model number, I always used and phones. T68i, T28World, R320, T600, T610, K700i, W950i and maybe some others !

The UIQ3 phones with PSILOC Japanese is OK but input is not so easy.

Now I am using a TyTn II so yes, maybe I jumped ship, but I got a free upgrade coming soon, so maybe I will get the S-E W960i as a back-up!

Well, that's put everyone asleep....

mazi said it well - " ^^ relly Esato is the Best site for SE fans that I ever seen... "

If I think of anything else, I will..................... post it in 6 years time.
