Ordinary wired headsets can give these "high-pitch" sounds, ..Bluetooth-headsets dont.

The "ear-hanger" can give problems/headaches,..because it sits on some big nerves/nervesystem on the backside of the ear.
That is not the case with Bluespoon,..its ear-lock sits IN the ear,..and NOT around it

And I would say its pretty safe to use all bluetooth headsets,..none are worse/better than the other.
We all work under certain/specific guidelines/laws concerning radiation, and they are being followed,..all of them

I still believe, when talking e.g. cancer,..that some will always get cancer,..no matter what. It just has to be "triggered" by something, whether its cigarettes or radiation or something else.
A very good example is the cigarettes,..some develop cancer,..others dont,..they can smoke their entire life,..without being bothered by it at all.
What I'm trying to say is,..that "someone" will always get sick, while the rest (98,56740%) don't.

has anyone ever held there cell phone near a radio or speaker when its ringing or engaged in a call ? It sounds like a buzz saw - thats the sound of microwaves hitting the magnet of the speaker - same thing the cell phone microwaves do to our brains....scares the living day lights out of me - I've been using cell phones since 1983. My eyesight has started to go - more in my right eye than left (I talk on my phone against my right ear - coincidence ? ) I get headaches - painful ones now whenever I speak for any prolonged period on my cell - with or without my earpiece ( I have a Nokia 6310i and Ericsson t68 - they both cause the headacheds). My regular land line phone - and cordless phone do not make my speakers buzz - neither does normal sun light or putting radiated food in my mouth. I am a baby boomer - they also told my mother it was ok for her to smoke when she was pregnant with me in the 50's. People do anything to make money - need I say more...?

I came found this thread through a search to look for similar observations -- simply 'coz I am in fact experiencing a more noticeable headache after more than 5 minutes or so of use of my new HBH-30 and it does appear to linger around a while after use. I have had similar headaches years back when using early generations of Ericsson phones (the ph series), tho my T39m rarely gives me with any headache these days, even with long use (except when the bill comes along.)

I not sure if its just coincidental, whether its the radio radiation or simply that the ear piece being held against the back of my ear that lead to the headache (the ear hook of the HBH-30 is indeed larger than previous models, albeit softer due to the rubber material used.)

That's my 2 cents of an experience...

Hi, I've never experienced headaches while using mobiles but on the other hand I seldom speak more than a couple of hours per week.
I find this discussion very intresting and I remember having read an article some years ago where peple that had headaches with mobiles had put them in airtight plastic bags and then got rid of their problems!! I'm not joking!
It turned out that the plastic shells of the phones emitted very toxic substances when they were heated by the bodytemperature and electronics inside. The phones in the article where from Ericsson and Nokia I believe. Since then I haven't heard anything more about so i suppose that the plastic materials are "healthier" nowadays. However, it would be easy to try for someone who gfets headaches.
But like I said, I'm lucky not to get them and have now bought a HBH-20 just in case

I think you can assume for certain that it is not the Bluetooth radiation that produces the effects, if you have a mobile (or even just wireless) phone that does not produce the results.
However pressing against the head could perhaps do it. There are some major nerves passing close by there.
Also the plastic evaporating something sounds more probable than the BT radiation irritating you.
It could even be that this happened more during calls, because during calls parts of the plastic might be heated by the antenna and electronics.

However, I think you should also consider that it is possible that your worrying about this effect, might be enough to cause headaches...

I am a long time heavy gsm addict. I am selfemployed and talk a lot with customers on the phone during my workdays. I bought the first ericsson bluetooth headset when it came out so i have also been using bluetooth for quite some time. I would not have payed so much attention or concern about these talks about the dangers with mobiles if not for one experience that i had a few years ago. I cant remember what phone i had at that time.
I had been experiencing some toothpain for some days and i had ordered a time with my dentist to go and check it up. This was 'normal' tooth problems that had nothing to do with my mobile. Then one of these days (before i had went to see my dentist) i was sitting at a restaurant talking to a customer. The conversation lasted for some time. After maybe 40 minutes of talking my tooth that had been causing me moderate pain started to hurt more. I was concentrated on my conversation on the phone and did not give it any attention. After talking some more minutes the pain continued to increase. Suddenly i realised that my tooth was hurting a LOT. I had to put down the phone in the middle of a sentence and give out a cry of pain. (not to loud, i was in a restaurant) emediately the pain vanished. I still did not connect the pain to that i was using the phone. I picked up the phone again to give an excuse to the customer for my behaviour. Maybe 20-30 seconds after i put the phone back to my ear (same side as the tooth) the pain started to increase again. I tried the same thing a couple of times (put down the phone and then picked it up to my ear again. Same thing every time. The pain started to increase again while i was talking on he phone. This is the only time i have felt anything from my phone but its enough to convince me fully that there may be risks with these things that we should be carefull with how we use our dear mobiles.
I feel more safe when using bluetooth because of the lower transmission power that is used. It must make some difference if you transmit with power for reaching 2 kilometers or 10 meters i guess.
