I just can't understand why some people just brush aside Viewty and say K850 is better without any valid evaluation. And I just cannot comprehend why the availability of hackers modded drivers for K850 is an advantage.

I didnt brush the Viewty aside. I liked the features on paper. thought they were great. So i got the Viewty. yeh i love the screen, the video recording, the divx playback was also fun. but it only takes up to 2gb of memory so cant really have many movies stored...which was a shame. as a camera and other functionality the Viewty beats the K850. as a practical phone the K850i beats it. has way more useful phone-like featuers than the Viewty. Viewty's media player wasnt very good either...nowhere near as good as the k850i media player.

it all came down to the fact that i didnt find the Viewty useful as a practical phone. used it extensively for 10 days before i gave it back. i got very used to the touchscreen typing (loved that), browsed the internet (not as good as i'd hoped) and played with teh camera (excellent for videos, not bad for stills). but the standard phone features, such as writing txts, finding phone contacts in the phonebook etc just wasnt as useful as the k850i.

i dunno..its my own opinion. i gave the Viewty a good shot and it lost.

@deepy

Are you sure you confirmed it 100%? Dont look at spec sheet. Originally they say N95 can take max 2Gb only. But we know that is not true.

browsed the internet (not as good as i'd hoped)

Not as good as what? Iphone? :confused: K850 opera browser is not good either. With its small screen, I would say K850 lagged behind Viewty in web browsing.

as a practical phone the K850i beats it.

I agree with you here.

K850 and P1 and both joke of a phones in front of the LG Viewty. P1 has a terrible camera and K850 looks terrible with its awful keypad.
Just go for the viewty IMO. You get a phone with a huge screen, video recording that pisses all over the video recording on K850/P1, better camera than K850 and not to mention, nothing on the viewty will eventually peel off like it does on the K850(keypad).

I think the camera on the K850 is much better than the Viewty. The compression on the Viewty sometimes is a bit too much.

K850i and P1i is indeed not a joke in front of the Viewty.

Writing messages on the P1i is much easier than writing messages on the Viewty. Writing messages on the Viewty is kinda annoying sometimes since you can't just press on the screen lightly. You need to press it with a bit more force.

I am however, really impress with the Viewty's recording. It's really amazing.

I've only tried the P1i and the Viewty, and these are only my opinions only.

The 'trackID' software is owned by Sony Ericsson, so I doubt the KU990 will have it, although it may have a similar piece of software although I cant confirm that as I've not used it.
You can get exactly the same results as trackID by dialing 2580 and letting the call connect then letting it hang itself up (it takes about 20 seconds). It then sends you a text message with the track info. This feature uses the same Gracenote database as trackID, the only downside being that it charges you for each time you use it. I think its called Shazzam.
