Hi all,

Yes there is EQ problem and is not file problem concerning odd bass tail coming out...
It doesn't come when you use normal preset EQ but Manual mode.
I test couple of music mp3 converted from CD and it has mostly 340kbps, when I use manual eq mode and song goes to very silent with deep single instrument like "In the lap of the God, Alan Parsons Project", there is single church bell sound at start of the song, you can hear very strange jittered tail sound when bell sound is fade off.
Original CD doesn't have that sound and my IPod as well, and K850i also doesn't produce that kind of noise "WHEN YOU USE JUST PRESET EQ".

I think it is definately manual eq mode bug or something.

Bose home theatre systems are great, its their headphones where they have gone wrong! (a few of them)......

And did you ever think the k850i might not be able to power the headphones properly? Some mp3 players might not even be able to power certain headphones, thats why we have such things calld "amps".....

It is not a headphone/earphone issue as i have the same problem with my sony earphone. Actually, my bose headphone, QuietComfort® 3, gives louder sound than my sony earphone. I guess it is because my bose headphone is battery powered(for noise cancelling). It may aid the input requirements somehow...

I can assure you my bose headphone is very good quality. I have not used the other headphone but I have the top of the range Creative Gigawork S750 7.1 sound system for my desktop and the sound quality of the bose is similar to, if not better than, the Creative speakers.

If you read my 1st post (I have updated it), I can confirm with you that it should be the K850i issue.

By the way...

I played that movie back on my PC and it has the same issue when played on the K850i.

Therefore, it looks as thought this is a transfer issue, although (again) I used the software that was supplied (you pay $9.99 to download it direct from SE).

Not good!:x

I also noticed the volume in general is lower and that bass is lower too unless you turn on mega bass (which sucks).
I hope they increase both volume & bass with the next firmware
edit: compared to k750

I find it louder than k800i tho!

may be it's ur earphone/headphone having a high input requirement?

ye higher than the default earthingies, but it was def louder on my k750.
I know because i used to max out some piano songs to hear them properly on my k750..but maxing it out now is still not loud enough

however, the se music player only recognises about 330 out of just over 1000 songs i have on my memory card, how do i get it to update it library i.e. find the other songs?

a friend of mine told me that the phone is noticably slower in reading a 1GB microSD card compared to reading a 4GB M2 card... so I guess it's better to use an M2 card, although the phone supports SD cards..
