you dont need to upgrade the erom as you are not having problems with it. your problem is that you have a firmware from an operator(maxis i guess) and you need to flash it with a generic firmware.
now, do you care chinesse language? you need a FS containing that language. for example: K810_R1KC001_FS_CHINA_RED52(this contains english and chinese simplified), K810_R1KC001_FS_HONG_KONG_RED52(this contains English - Chinese traditional Hong Kong), etc.
