Tell me how does optical zoom make a difference on the N93i video compared to say the N95?

You don't need to use digital zoom?

Digital zoom and optical zoom are 2 different things mate. Protos on the N93i had an additonal feature: auto focus on video which was a great feature but they took it out at the last minute, I think it drained the battery more.

The optical zoom feature you think of on the N93i doesnt really make a difference at all. If anything you just hear that motor whizzing as you zoom in.

I had the N93i so I know lol

Optical zoom does not improve or enhance the actual quality of the recorded footage does it.
1st viewty
2nd N95 8gb/N95/n82
3rd N93i
the rest are nowhere really.

Thank you!!!! At last someone who knows what he is talking about. Although im intrigued to hear K850 Sucessor's explanation on how it does improve the N93i video quality. Come to think of it didnt you have a N93i aswell? I think you got yours before I got mine if I remember correctly.

Nokia N93 has better video than the N93i:

"Video is captured with somewhat worse quality too, which you can see for yourself on the samples; Nokia N93 more natural-looking colors, does well at showing particular details, yet it outputs clips weighting 20-30 percent more. Also sound volume and quality are higher for Nokia N93 thanks to its dual-speaker system."

Its video is not destroyed by that terrible noise reduction that they put on N95 video. You can see far more detail.

LG viewty has really good video too, havent seen anything better.

Yeah, but it sounds like a 747 is coming in to land when you play it back

Yeah thats a nice way of putting it. Although it would have been nice if Nokia had left in the AF in video feature.

Its between Viewty and N93i.
LG Viewty has:
120fps at QVGA
Slow motion
Nokia N93i has:
30fps at VGA
3x Optical Zoom
TV-Out to watch the videos.

when i had N82 it had bad picture-quality by its TV-out jack....its was NOT good at all....

N82 or N95 have NOT very good video quality, its ok, but not very good...this sample is shoot in good daylight, but still to blurry...
