A member of staff in the Nokia store in London told me that the N82 black would be exclusive to one network in the UK as well as being available sim free. I checked the Carphone Warehouse at the weekend and they said they have no details which would indicate a network exclusive. I asked at the O2 store and they said that it would not be available on their network.
I'm hoping that they are wrong and the new simply hasn't filtered through to the stores yet. Would prefer to buy a discounted one than pay £400 for a sim free model.

There has been no info at O2 about this, so the sales staff don't know.
I'll ask our Nokia rep when he comes in tomorrow or Wednesday, but if he doesn't know I'd guess it'd be O2. Nokia seem to like us when it comes to colour exclusives right now

N82 Black is out now! Let me do a quick unboxing photo...
We have all been waiting for the Black N82 for months. Finally here it comes. I asked and asked to get the last remaining one and take some fresh unboxing photos for forum sharing. I think since the N82 is a famous “N”, I don’t really need to say anything technically.
Freshly out of the box. It is an Asian version.
A lot of goodies come with the N82. Charger, Battery, 2GB MicroSD, USB Cable, earphones, CD, and strangely a AV cable.
The main point is the black colour. I like this black version more than the others.
Xenon flash, 5 mega pixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens.
Keypad is too small and thin. It is actually difficult to use.
MicroSD card slot on the side. This time is not a rubber cover.
Included standard earphones. Nokia does not come with inside the ear headphones right? Why?
Big and sharp screen.
Web browsing to plemix…
And we can move around the frontpage to the N82 highlight box….
I am not sure if you N82 owners are aware of that. The phone actually has a lot and a lot of buttons around the phone. Except for the bottom end of the phone which only has a microphone hole, buttons are located all 5 sides of it. On the front, included the 12 keypads, there are 24 buttons on that small area. Wow.
