The only thing I like About the P1i is the screen and the aluminum finish. I think the G900 would be a nice upgrade, just because it has so many different changes. Such as the camera, size, WiFi and software. I think it looks more like the Iphone's software.

I am really torn between P1i and G900 as my upgrade over my beloved K750i (which I loved so much being a completely feature rich phone and fantastic camera).

I am want following
Must have features
Touch screen and handwriting recognition
Good build Quality
Camera 3MP or more
Music quality / Clarity
Approx 6-8 days of continuous standby time (without any calls)

Nice to have
Document readers / writers
Wireless access

Both P1i and G900 qualify for these requirements. But, I am slightly inclined towards G900 because:
- it's new
- has a D-pad and normal numeric keys (feels like my old K750i)
- it's compact

P1i being now relatively old, it's firmwares (software) updates might not be frequent (if any).

Wise men, who have migrated from P1i (or from K750i) to G900, please comment on whether it's good idea to go for G900

G900 G900 G900 all the way!!! Having gone from a P990 to P1i to a G900 I can say without any doubt that for ME the G900 is the best phone I've had. Looks great, it's small, the screen is lush, a normal keypad I can use (I hated the P1i's), a thumb friendly interface, in-fact I haven't used the stylus hardly at all, and a great camera with lots of features and again a brilliant interface. The D pad is also a massive welcome as it makes using UIQ sssssooooooooo much better, think of it as the 5 way scroll wheel but on the front, this along with the finger friendly icons makes the phone a joy to use.

But that's just me, no doubt others would argue for he P1i. Try both and get what YOU want.

I just realised I've made a post on this thread before and after I've brought the G900 hahaha.

G900 is better than P1 in may ways... Just the one thing it lacks is the qwerty keyboard... If you don't need it, just go for the G900.

@apolloa, @strizlow800: Thanks.

What I also want to know is if you feel any improvement interms of performance (transitions, opening apps, etc) over P1i.

Don't forget that lots of other phones features can now be run on the P1i!

W960 Walkman, G900 Notes, G900 Flash programme etc you can load on on Gameboy ROMs I have Sonic on mine to amuse littlun when he's having to be 'patient' sometimes LOL - might work on G900? - I dunno - never even seen one

The longer I have my P1i and the more 'hacked' bits & pieces become available the more I love it

Anyway, whatever you get have fun...

@arvinlad: Thanks. You are right, the more and more hacks, apps would definitely make life fun.

Just got a G900 yesterday. I find it to be a perfect phone for the non-hardcore smartphone users.

So ya...unless u r absolutely in love with the QWERTY keyboard n the bigger screen, go for G900 instead.
