I don't tip, never have done, never will do.

Like everyone else, you work, you get paid, why should we pay you extra, we've just paid alot of money for the food which is turns pays you.

My thoughts exactly!
(except in some rare circumstances)

I actually have another reason to tip, last time I tipped it was inadvertantley!

We were in a cheap Chinese buffet and the waiter short changed us intentionally by about £3 or £4. We asked for all our change and she came back and it was still about 50p short. I just left with what change I did get back and now we hardly ever go there.

Hmmm depends where and what your having, if I am having a nice meal out I may tip say 10% other times I will not tip if the meal or service is not good.

If I went to america I would tip though

Some of you lot are tightarses lol... I mean seriously, some of you never give a tip?? Would love to see if you guys have actually ever been on a date with a girl lol.

Do you make the girl pay for her meal aswel? Lol...

I mean its not often you go out for a meal so whats the problem in leaving a £1 to £5 tip, its not as if you do it everyday

I don't think tipping is a sign of romance really lol.

Not that I've dated much, my boyfriend was my best friend first so we kinda bypassed all that, but still, we both think tipping is a pointless exercise. You turn up for work, you get paid, you go home.

What next? Do we give them a biscuit and pat them on the head and say "good boy"?

Jesus H Christ, your English is terrible...

Anyway, moving on. no it doesn't make you a tight arse one little bit. You have a high class function, you pay alot MORE for that. You go to a cheap resturant, you pay alot LESS for that. It's all in the price.

If it's a posh place and somebody is at your every beck and call, the food tends to cost an absolute fortune, so I'd feel no guilt what so ever by not tipping. I'd expect the resturant to feel guilty for charging me so much for food lol.

I usually leave £5 unless the service/food was bad

No chance. Having worked in the hotel industry for ten years and i have now got out i have seen some of the worst waiting staff come and go. If you could see behind the scenes how some waiters do their jobs then you would not tip. Though i have made 40 quid or more in a day myself on tips but its upto the customer if they tip obviously but they dont have to even if the service is good. At the hotel i worked at you dont expect to be tipped cos its your job that you get paid to do and a tip is just a little bonus. Americans are biggest tippers.
