well all i can say that there will be only few who have guts to try out xperia at such a massive price after p990 debacle.Nothing can be said abt xperia if the phone is not perfect it could turn into p990 story and price may stumble.And would be biggest loose of customers and Se if they dont get everything right with xperia unlike SE tradition with p990,p1,k850,w910 etc..

I can't understand why retailers would be offering any prices at all at this time. Surely, it would take a remarkable leap of faith for any consumer to order a phone that isn;t being released for at least 6 months and which still has so much uncertainty surrounding it?

@500
I would think those prices quoted are US Dollars so whats the exchange rate to the US Dollar? As for prices dropping look at the W960 and N95 8gb the N95 8GB launched first and has held it's price. Retail prices for the W960 has dropped £60-£80 and on the forum what was an over £450 devcie can be got for between £210-£230. Now while this may be good for us the consumer it can't be for SE's revenues or profits.

i know its not good for

, nor is it good for any company. well, for nokia, it might not be so bad, as i said, their production costs are lower!
im just refering to launch prices, all companies launch high. then drop.....
thats just market competition though.......... whether its between sellers, or manufacturers.......
