Oh well, I'll not be getting a W890i then.
Or any other Sony Ericsson from now on as they all use a new screen technology which goes completely black when the phone is not in use. Hence the reason you need to press one of the volume keys to see the standby clock. Not that hard is it?
Its not hard, just harder than it needs to be, if other manufacturers can do it why not SE, if they have fitted a notification LED then thats at least something even if it won't show the time.

I've had my W890 for three days now and I'm SURE that I had the sleepmode clock when I first tarted using the phone.
I think it depends on which background you are using because now I have an animaten one and I lost the clock!
The thing is I can't get it back.
But I know that I had it, because the first night I checked the clock several times....

All new Sony Ericsson phones do not have a permanent sleep mode clock, in order to see the time on the screen when the phone has been idle you need to press the volume keys once.
This will display the time on the screen and info on messages and whether the phone is locked/on silent.
It has nothing to do with the sleep mode clock option in settings.

I dont mind about the clock as I can just look at my watch which is easier lol but the messages icon I think would be usefull on standby. Also the vibration and message alert tone is not that loud so its easy to miss messages. They shud have a option for repeated message alert tones like Samsungs.
