email, mms, IR...........syncing it to my pc - then back to the other phone (not that the pcsuite likes having two different cradles attached or indeed those being used by two different user accounts - don't get me started

)......

Sending a note from my K750 to my P990 using bluetooth, the note is recognized as a vNote by P990 and opened with Quickword, similar contents as described previously.
Sending from K750 to Nokia 6260: Nokia actually opens the note with the Notes application but the note has the same contents as described before.
Sending from Nokia 6260 to P990: The message is received as a txt file BUT the contents of this text file are exactly what the original note contained.
It gets better: (using "send as note" option on the P990)
Sending from P990 to Nokia 6260: Received as a jot file, can't be opened - format unknown!
Sending from P990 to K750: Similar result, file can't be opened.
P990 also gives you the option to send as text or picture but I didn't try them.

OK, the first thing that we have to do, is not letting Brick users know about this (that will be nokia), specially a friend of mine, he wont leave me alone if he knows about this problem.
the second thing is.... (Here you can add your ideas)

I always use Word from Docs2Go just to be sure I have no problem using it later.

So it seems that it will only work when sending to a phone of the same sieries, not just the same make - rendering the function practically useless....oh well, did I truly expect anything better?
Another one for the wiki methinks...

The only practical method to transfer Notes between phones seems to be by using Outlook.

Ok.. so what do we have, then..
1. Option to send vnt- files via e-mail and mms should be there (in addition to the export content thing).
2. vNotes can't be sent via bluetooth.. unless it's to the same phone- series?
..Can we tell whether it's an actual oversight with the parser, or if it's just the file- format that's the problem, btw? That the phone actually receives a useable note, but in "txt", or something else? Because if so, this isn't a problem with the p1 (but the a200 platform). I mean, maybe we would want an "import from file" option, since some solutions dump the content of the sync- files into a dat file before sending it on. But that would be an extra that's only needed because others won't follow the standard.
But if the file is sent just fine... then the only problem is the file- type associations on the p1.

My comment about only the same sieries of phones being able to talk to each other, was based on @Makbil's experiments, which showed that there were problems between differing SE phones, and my own which showed that P/UIQ phones had no problems. Not conclusive proof, I know, but it's starting to look that way.
Also, it seems to me that the only reason why a note from a non UIQ phone can be viewed at all on the P1, is because it has quickword, which just displays it 'as is' and doesn't differentiate between the header and the body of the text.
My money's on it all being a matter of file extentions.
