It depends on what you are comparing it to. The screen size is what 2.5 inches?

Dogman you must be referring to the fact that you are using an E90? Well I dont think you will see any phone with a screen that size (in the UK anyway). The best thing would obviously be somthing touch screen like iphone or tube when but im not too sure about the THunder. Obviously we have not even seen any spy pics yet but if its all touch screen then its interface needs to be bang on for it to be follow in the footsteps of other sucessfull BB devices. To be honest im yet to see any phone with a touch interface as good as iphones so it will be interesting.

Hi Fatreg,

That is just for the US as far as i can tell and the BB Thunder is expected September time in the UK and i think the BB Bold should arrive late June early July.

Personally i have decided to wait to see the Thunder as just don't think i can go back to such a small screen now.

Comparison is a selective thing amongst all of us.

TO me the SIZE of a screen is directly affected by battery power (especially brightness, number of pixels, etc), and directly affecting the SIZE of a device.

Please note that this Bold, is a keyboard based device. Those of you wishing for 2.5+ screens need to understand that it's going to be RELATIVELY larger in Landscape format than in Portrait format. Thus increasing the width of the device beyond comfort & one handed control. Case in point: the HP iPaq 910 is a WMPro 6.1 device with a touchscreen yet its roughly the same width as the Bold. Reason for it is because too large you cannot operate it for simple relay of information with one hand; this essentially robs the device of it's PRIMARY function: a Phone!

Now, most of us, Marc & myself included, are older and our eyes have been affected probably longer than the kids out there trying to read LOTS of data on small screens like the K750/800 for example. However, I feel that with a certain screensize for qwerty devices being acceptable greatly increases when it comes to CLARITY of fonts, graphics, icons, video, etc, when the pixels become smaller and supporting polygons as apposed to those old SQUARE pixels from 1982 Commodore PET cathod-ray screens.

Hey Marc, this just dawned on me. Kids around 14 now have probably NEVER watched TV on CathodeRay screens, lol.

I heard the Bolds propietary browser has undergone a facelift. Do you think it will be as good as opera? And if not Bold should be able to run opera 9.5 right?

Hi all,

I really don't see how some have missed the fact that i said said PERSONALLY and FOR ME and yes this is due to being spoiled by the E90's 4" screen.

@Bav

The Boy Genius has the real Thunder as it is very similar to the photo shop he showed a while back. So it does have a large touchscreen. As to how well the BB OS translates to touch screen or how good the new browser is we will have to wait for preview units or full release to see. But i seriously doubt Rim will release an half finished device that doesn't work there not SE you know.

@Prom1

That's nothing how about telling them we only used to have Black and White TV's and i remember when we got a colour TV. LMAO.

Other than DOM L2; I see no difference in what the browser supports! How it renders would be interesting. But I still see nothing specifically different and enough for a press release on it - hence why its barely highlighted by RIM.

BTW, downloading using the browser is nothing new. Everytime you download its the browser doing it.

Also im sure everyone has seen this but here are some improvments we should see in the final version. I love the new web browser. It looks at least at the level of the s60 browser or opera 9.5.
