So in laymans terms, it uses the brightest parts out of the three pics to form a third composite image?

PHAT ROTA DUDE! You got it pulsing or kept the idle up? I got a mate who had one of these pulsing so loud. Everyone would be looking around for the 13B and see an RX8 instead! Way cool.

How's this:
And the HDR:
I reckon it's the camera because my auto bracket probably doesn't stretch as far as yours, it lacks manual control a fair bit, my TZ3.
Need a big dSLR, I've got an EOS650, but I can't be as creative with film.

@DonJuan these are amazing, if you have the time and don't mind posting a little tutorial i'd really appreciate it. I've just got a Sony A200 DSLR and would love to produce stuff like that?

^^ I'm not Don Juan, but I'll give it a go.
Set your camera to auto bracket, depending on how far it'll go each way.
That way it'll take 3 photos, each of a different exposure, 1 high, 1 low, one normal.
You then take the three at combine them in an application like qtpfsgui, photomatix pro, or Photoshop CS3 Ext. which is what I (badly) use.
Don Juan will probably like to elaborate on what I said, I've probably missed something. That's why mine are crap, and his aren't. But that's a basic outline.

The app will do it for you.
I've never used qtpfsgui, but Photomatix Pro and PSCS3 just ask you for source images, you can do more than 3, but 3 is good enough.
The software does the rest of the work
