Wouldn't it cheaper to include DSP chip than optimize the software?(alot of work and money) =/

Ok Mizzle, I get that you're happy with what SE's doing. I'm just saying a whole bunch of people (I believe that includes you my friend) would be happier if they integrated sw and hw to be the best of the best and blow the competition to hell. There's just so much debate now about what sounds better (even with the new W980 and W902) and don't we all wish SE can settle the score once and for all?

After reading all the posts above, do you guys really know what a DSP does?
Some of you are saying SE hasn't got DSP/s in their handsets but I was wondering that how a phone functions without a DSP?

@aasimtom
What a dedicated sound processor does is dedicate itself to processing audio. It is a specialized hardware component that could enhance one's audio experience. SE doesn't have this in their devices and are relying solely on software which can hardly compete with hardware. That's why we're suggesting they integrate the two to get a kick ass ultimate music machine. I believe that is all that I have to say about that

SE's smartphones do have it. It's part of their chipset. Does that make it any better?

Ah, yes, the smartphones. Ok with exception to these, yes I find the audio quality superior to other Walkman phones, but oddly enough, only if you use the 'Rock' equalizer preset. The other settings just suck. I wonder what that's about?

Most definitely can't be the DSP, caus' all phones with a DSP are superior...
Here it is for anyone who doubts, btw..
