Bonovox, i think Nokia might just shift to 10 megapixel camera. Else nokia would never lag this much. Else if they release 8mp phone, then it should be something "revolutionary".
Amnesia,
Is the n96 slower than n95 8gb(in the same applications)? since its processor is 264mhz( while n95-8gbs was 332mhz), And hows its performance in games as compared to the same in n95 -8gb?

Them going for a 10mp phone would actually make more sense than coming up with an 8mp phone. However I doubt they would go that far, I still expect them to come up with their 8mp phone first before going 10.
On the other hand, if rumours are true that SE are readying their 10mp phone then it may change things for Nokia. I'm sure they would like to be the first ones with the 10mp phone (seeing that they've been beaten to it this time) to get a headstart in sales.

i really do not see the need for 8 or 10 mega pixel camera phones. at the end of the day i think 5mega pixel is good enough, in my opinion. if you want a higher mega pixel camera phone then it may be worth getting a digital camera that will do the job without any bugs etc. sorry for going off topic. back to topic people

I think going over 8 mega pixels is going too far. 8 mega pixels in a phone with such a tiny sensor is hard enough to keep picture noise down. 10 mega pixels is not what we need. Between 5 and 8 is enough for me anyway. My current digital camera is 8 and its fine.

@Mr Miyagi and Bonovox
Agree, until we get decent sensors comparable to digital cameras it is a waste of time to keep increasing the mega pixels.
Unfortunately, the man on the streets thinks differently which is where the manufacturers capitalise. As long as people associate higher mega pixels with excellent pictures comparable to digital cameras then we will keep on seeing cell phone manufacturers coming up with phone that have high mp counts to make more money from the ignorant majority.
Apologies amnesia for hijacking your thread, back to topic.

I would rather buy N95 8GB or N85 rather than this device. N96 has only a few advantages, namely the DVB-H (which is useless as of yet), the 16GB built-in plus a memory card slot and FP2. Its disadvantages are:
an inferior processer
Inferior battery (compared to n95 8GB)
No 3D accelerator
Cheap platic-feeling (again compared to n95 8GB)
design
I can't see why N96 has a two-way slider, because the multimedia keys are on the front aswell as on the slider, and I think it's fine that N95 8GB does have the dual-slider design

I would just like to clear that N96 actually has DUAL 269Mhz CPUs
